Ultimately I knew that it was a possibility that she would have to choose however in order for the flow of the story to work out I could not make her choose. She was as much as a family member to the East as she was going to be the mate of the West. The plot bunnies did not see her having to choose between the 2 of them just because of how the world was changing around them.
