" Inuyasha let her be!!!" I took a deep breath and stroked the fur of Shippo's tail as we walked, ignoring the dog earred idiot that continued to yell my name. " Kagome!!! Just answer the damn question and then I wonjt ask again!! Is Kikyo-"

" Shut up Inuyasha." Sango hissed again and I turned to smile at her but she grimanced, seeing the anger that was slowly building up with each syllable of my name.

" KAGOME!!!!"

" SIT! SIT! SIT! SIT! SIT!!!" I screamed and took a deep breath, closing my eyes and glaring down into the crater that Inuyasha was currently occupying. " Stop asking about her!!! GOD! Yes, she is still several miles away from us. Yes, I can still sense her and YES, KIKYO IS STILL WAITING FOR US!!!! ARE YOU SATISFIED NOW YOU ASSHOLE?!!!!" I screamed into the hole and stalked off with Shippo in my arms, his small hands storking my cheek.

" Are you okay,  Okaa-san?" Shippou asked and I smiled at him though I could feel the edges of my mouth beginning to sag. " I'm fine, Shippou. Just a little tired is all. I didn't sleep very well last night." I sighed and scrubbed a hand over my face. 

" Is it because of the fight you and Inuyasha had last night? I... didn't mean to listen. I just didn't want to sleep yet." Shippou admitted and I smiled at him, ruffling his hair lightly. " That's okay, sweetheart. I know you didn't. It's not that though. I just didn't get enough sleep. My argument with Inuyasha didn't really bother me."

And for once wasn't a lie. All thought my fight with Inuyasha had upset me, he wasn't the sole reason that sleep had evaded me last night or the night before. Laughing empty faces and the claws of a demon flashed before my eyes, sending a chill down my spine. The jewel had also been starring in most if not all of my dreams when I wasn't dreaming of being torn to pieces for the past week and a half. Inuyasha's constant nagging wasn't helping my mood at all. 

" You know what guys? I think I'm going to go back early this week. Catch up on some sleep, ya know?" I said and forced a smile as Inuyasha began to slowly make his way out of his crater.

" Whatever wench. We don't need you. Kikyo could do a better job a tracking jewel shards than you could anyway. Why don't you go home and stay there for once." He hissed and looked away from me.

I nodded and put Shippou down before breaking into a run in the direction of the well.

It seemed like I had been running for forever when the well finally came into view. 

" Miss?" A melodious voice called from behind me and before I had a chance to look, a sharp pain lanced through my head and I collapsed.
