Don't Go Breaking My Heart

Sesshomaru sat at his desk, type and looking through files at the same time, ignoring the incescent noise of the little device.

Why is Kami's name did I buy a phone? I have no need of one.

After the ringing stopped Sesshomaru began to file away papers, placing a binder in his lap and properly replacing the rest of the papers. A shrill beeping sound caught his attention as the phone, once again began to ring. After glaring at it for a few seconds, he sighed and hit answer, his ears ringing as a familiar voice blasted his ear drums.

" SESSHOMARU YOU FUCKING IDIOT!!!"

" Inuyasha you have precisely 10 seconds to explain to this Sesshomaru exactly why it is you have disturbed him-"

" Oh cut the bullshit for once you arrogant asshole. You fucked up. Big time. Guess who just called me crying her eyes out?" Sesshomaru raised an eyebrow but did not reply.

"Kagome just called me, bawling, to tell me that you hadn't made it home yet. Do you know what today is Sesshomaru?" He asked indignantly over the phone, the anger in his voice clear.

" It is the 23rd of February, Inuyasha." He sighed but something in the back of his mind hinted at something more.

I am clearly missing something that is of great importance.

" It's also your anniversary date, you pompous asshole. Kagome's gonna kill you when you get home. You'd better be prepared cause the way she sounded, you're about to get the yelling of a lifetime. Stop making my best frined cry, asshole." Inuyasha growled into the phone and before he had a chance to reply, Inuyasha hung up.

Sesshomaru blinked and then uncoinsciously dialed his house and when no one answered he tried Kagome's cell, which he she didn't pickk up.

Within seconds he was up and in the garage, heading for his car. On auto pilot, Sesshomaru drove off and parked, rushing upstairs and stopping in front of the door.

He slowly opened the door and his eyes scanned the living room, coming to rest on the love seat that was stationed by the window, a head of straight black hair poking just above thehead rest.

" Kagome?' He asked quietly but recieved no reply. He took a deep breath and walked forward, only to stop short as he felt her reiki crackle.

" How many times does this make, dearest?" She asked calmly and for the second time in his life at the hands of this one woman, shivered in fear and cleared his throat.

" Twice mate. In a row." He said and advanced anway, forcing his way past her barrier and sitting at her feet, her hands in his. Sesshomaru flinched internally as he took a good look at his wife's face. 

Puffy red eyes, reddened cheeks and watery eyes marred her beautiful face as she stared down at him, though it felt like she was looking through more than at.

" Do you have anything you want to say?" She asked quietly and he shook his head, knowing nothing could help.

" Then have a goodnight Sesshomaru." She said and emoved her hands from him grip as she slowly went upstairs into thier daughter's room.

Sesshomaru sighed and scrubbed hand over his face,
