I think that pride is Sesshoumaru's most dominate trait. Of course, Sesshoumaru hasn't forgotten the way that Rin dies but that doesn't mean he has to go peacefully to the finish line! I don't think it would be in his nature to gracefully admit defeat either to something that he adamantly would refuse to do at this age. Even when they were facing Zankoku, he had refused the mating despite needing to solidify their power. It's only after everything gets taken away from them that he agrees. If older Sesshoumaru is that stubborn, I don't think young him would be any less stubborn, y'know? Plus, I need some plot lol

Sorry that you felt disappointed, if you expected a full fledged story, it wouldn't have been my one-shot as the prompt I used had a max of 2000 words. Any romance or more in-depth drama wasn't my intention for it.

Thanks for the review on Hopeless Insanity, and to answer your question, Kagome blames herself for a lot of what has happened, so she knows that she can't really fight with him on whatever he chooses to do. And she knows what she has to do, so fighting with him regardless would just be pointless for her.
