The Very Thought Of You by PublicDisaster
Cruelty
This chapter is in Sesshoumaru's POV, as will the next few if I decide to keep writing this story. Tell me what you think. Oh and the next chapters will be a lot longer.

Boring. Life was the most boring thing ever. I had been sitting at this cafe for over an hour waiting for my half-witted half-brother. He was late as per usual and I had to suffer because of it, he really has no respect for peoples time. I could be doing a million other things right now but instead I am here so I can fix another one of his mistakes.
The waitress was giving me funny looks, I could tell that she thought I was appealing but she also thought I was strange just sitting here drinking coffee giving everyone a dirty look. I always hated how you could not just sit somewhere for longer than twenty minutes doing nothing without people looking at you like you did something wrong. The girl sitting at the table in front of me had been here longer than I but she was not even being paid attention to. So I guess males get looks and woman get ignored, life sure was grand.
"Sir, if you are just going to sit here and not order anything, thenI willhave to ask you to leave." I heard the waitress ask rather nervously
"Then ask." I responded
"Will you please leave." she asked, even more nervous than before
"Considering that there is but only one other customer, no. I am waiting for someone." I was not trying to be rude but it may have came out like that
"Yes sir." she said before running off
I really was not trying to be rude and I doubt that I really was, people these days were so sensitive. Back when I was young you could stab someone and the next day go drinking with the same person in which you had stabbed like nothing ever happened. As I looked up I saw the woman at the table in front of me looking straight at me, she seemed like she was concentrating very hard. She had some sort of sketch book with her, she was drawing me. Normally I would have stopped this right away but something about her made me instead want to pose. She was not beautiful but she was pretty with her long black hair and blue eyes and odd mix around here. She seemed to be well developed though I have had better, it was something in those eyes that made you want to get to know her.
"You're late." I said as soon as I felt my little brother approach
"I'm on time." he huffed as he sat down across from me and ordered some coffee
"What do yo want?" I was the type that liked to get down to business
"Kikyou. She left me for some prick that has some serious mental problems." Inuyasha said as though he was truly upset by this
He and his bitch had been married for two years now, I always told him he shouldn't have married her but he did it anyway. He should have just kept sleeping with her it would have saved him a lot of money.
"How am I supposed to help with this?" I asked thoroughly annoyed with him and his petty problems
"She's trying to take all of my money. She says she's entitled to it because she had to put up with me for so long, if that's the case then I should get to keep everything because I had to put up with her slutty ass."
Inuyasha had finally figured her out, it took him a few years but he finally did it.
"I will take care of it, but next time think before you marry someone it will save you a lot of time and you would save a lot money." I voiced my earlier thoughts as I agreed to clean up his mess
"Feh." was his oh so intelligent answer to me
"Leave, you annoy me." I said trying not to smack him upside that empty head of his
"Fine, I have things to do anyway." Inuyasha said before he got up and left me to pay for his coffee in which he did not even take a sip of
I was cursed many years ago with a screw-up for a little brother, he could never do anything right and I always had to either pay or it or clean it up myself.
"Life is cruel to some and wicked to others." I heard someone say but when I looked around I could only see that girl
She was still sitting there drawing, or seeming to anyway. It did not seem that she was the one who had spoke.
"All in my head."
I sat for a few more minutes before I looked up again, something about that girl seemed to draw me to her like some sort of magic. She stopped her drawing for a minute and just looked at it but she showed no approval or dislike over it. She seemed blank but at the same time like she was waiting for something.
"Oi, girl." I called to her but it seemed that she did not hear me
"Girl, what have you drawn there?" I called louder than the last time, but still she remained quiet
I called to her a few more times but the only response I got was a few looks from that annoying waitress and another customer that had just arrived a few minutes prior. I called out one last time, but she did not answer me. I went back to my coffee, thoroughly annoyed by the strange girl, but not wanting to show it to the idiots who seemed to be so interested in me. After another few minutes, and sips from my now cold coffee, I decided to leave.
"Life is cruel, but I watch over you."
It was that same voice! I turned to look at that girl, but she was not there. I walked to the table she had been sitting at, there was a piece of paper left behind. It was her drawing, the one she had been working on but would not tell me what it was of. It was me, but-
"A child."
