Worst thanksgiving day turkey story? (because i could not answer)

Well...I'm jumping the gun a bit...but this Thanksgiving will probably, for me, will be the worst Thanksgiving ever...

It all started when my brother had a mild heart attack and had to have a stint...that was last Friday. Today I had to take my mom, who is supposed to be cooking dinner for about 20 people at our home on Thursday, to have a double heart catherization...now she can't lift over ten pounds, she has to sit to do anything for the next 72 hours. My sisters and I have to take her place and we can't be in the same room for more than two hours with out biting each other's heads off...and the worst part of it all...I am sick with the flu. Oh Well...at least my mom and the rest of my family are now in good health. HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

My mother is not one to waste anything... she used to boil down the carcass and make gallons of turkey soup. We all hated it! There would be these unidentified globules of... well, it was unidentifiable... floating on the surface. I can still hear her saying, "Don't inspect it! Just eat it!"

My uncle! He's always drinking all the beer(I don't drink by the by)--which cause my dad to get mad--which for some reason causes them to hog the family room trying to "settle the score" by seeing who can drink the most tequila!





Best prank ever played on a family member?

Convincing my uncle that my cousin and I had broken a whole slew of family heirlooms and Christmas gifts - entirely accidentally, of course - and suggesting that he try to replace them all with handmade items. (My uncle, by the way, is, in all honesty, the most artistically-lacking person on the face of the planet.) Needless to say...

When my aunt and my parents got back, they found him sitting in a pile of wrapping paper, construction paper, glue, markers, crayons - if it was something he could use to make art with, it was there. When he tried to explain what he was doing, my aunt stared before pointing behind him at the living room, where we had put all the gifts and heirlooms when he was panicking. The look on his face was priceless.

ugg i still have nightmares about this. my grandparents would gather us in the living room and video tape everyone (meaning aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers, sisters, you get the picture)singing a christmas carol. to this day i can't stand hearing people sing off key without having awful flashbacks. i must find those tapes and burn them......

worst christmas gift you ever received

My niece once one a prize at my son's birthday party that was a sea horse--the kind you put into water and it grows and grows and grows. Well, she grew it and then let it dry out and then insisted (according to her mother) on gifting me with the remains at Christmas. It was disgusting, but in a funny way. And to this day, every time she comes over to my house, she wants to see her sea horse. I haven't had the heart to get rid of it yet. I'm surprised it's still look-at-able.


What's your worst New Year's experience?

My brother and me went to a restaurant for a New Year's Eve party, and when we left I drove, since I was the designated driver. You'd think that would have been a wise decision, but somehow I forgot which way the one-way street in front of the restaurant went. Here we are going down the street, and watch as another car goes the opposite way. I start saying very nasty things about the fools that don't know which way they need to be driving, when my brother lets outs an "Oh, shit!"
I look at him, and as soon as I see his horrified expression, my brains kicks in.
Nobody has EVER done a U-turn that quickly before. Now my brother rags me about it every New Year's, says that I need something to drink before I get behind the wheel.

What is your best New Year's experience?

My best New Year's experiance was way back in the day, and it was when i was like... 8 maybe cause that was the 1st New Years it was the first new years I could stay awake the longest mostly because that year we through a big party and had a lot of people come over, and we set up an out side area, we had a teampolean and there was a lot of soad, plus a bunch of my friends where there. It was fun. So much went on that I cant even think of how to discribe it. Hahahaha

"Sex for Dummies" The mini version in 9th grade when we exchanged in a PUBLIC cafeteria!


What is the best color for your completion? (clothing colors)

Anything but red. And I know this b/c I worked at Targert for four years, six days a week and had to wear red every day. It does absolutely nothing for me. Green is a really good one. And blacks and browns....


Best--or rather favorite--chore to do?

Mine would be washing dishes. I love to wash dishes for some reason. And I'm very anal about it. I wash everything by hand with hot water and soap first and THEN wash them all in the dishwasher. Twice the work, but they damn well better be clean! And it is so soothing to me, too. Whenever I'm stressed, I like to wash dishes. Laundry would be my least. It sits, clean, in the baskets for days...and sometimes longer. Even the towels and those are the easy ones to fold and put away!

I love washing the dishes by hand also... I have a new dishwasher I have never used...

Best stress reliever for you?

I like to do things with my hands... Knitting, quilling, sculpting, etc.
